Inari’s History
Learn about selected highlights from the history of the Inari region. The texts are based on the history books published by the Municipality of Inari: Ihmisten Inari – Kohtaamisten maa (2026) and Inari Aanaar – Inarin historia jääkaudesta nykypäivään (2003).
The history-related texts and photographs are also featured on historical information boards installed in the village of Inari and in Ivalo in 2026. The boards were created as part of the Municipality of Inari’s 150th anniversary year. The idea for the historical information boards originated from an initiative by residents of the village of Inari.
